Jawbone UP
Jawbone has launched a watchface to track your steps around-the-clock!
iOS and Android users can find and install the watchface from the Pebble appstore. After initial set up, the watchapp will immediately begin gathering activity even while in the background.
Setting Up:
When you first load the watchapp, a settings screen will appear on your phone where you can register a Jawbone user account or log in to an exisiting Jawbone account, set your activity goal, and share some other user settings that will assist the algorithm. You can also choose between a handful of watchfaces to display your progress in a more personalized way.
Control:
By flicking your wrist, UP will display a 7-day history of activity so you can get a brief overview of your recent activity patterns.
iOS users can go to the App Store and download the latest UP mobile app by following this link. The mobile app for Android is coming soon (we will email you to keep you updated).
Please note: if you register on Jawbone, there is a switch that asks if you want HealthKit to record steps. If you have a setting that tells HealthKit steps registered from your phone to write to the Jawbone app, it will double your results. That is, each step will count as two since Jawbone will be collecting one from your phone and one from your Pebble.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Where is the app? I can't find it in the Pebble Appstore!
The Jawbone UP app is actually a watchface. So if you're searching for it in the appstore, be sure that you're looking in the correct category (watchfaces). Click here for the direct link.
When will the sync be coming to Android?
It is syncing to Jawbone from day one, even on Android. Your data will be waiting for you when the new Jawbone UP app is launched very soon. We are working hard to get sync working and will email you as soon as the Android app is available.
Will Jawbone keep my data until the Android app comes out?
Yes. You can go all out and push your new Pebble feature to the limits. Jawbone will be automatically saving your activity data to the cloud and it will be ready and waiting for you when you download and sign in to the app using the same email address.
I keep getting "Error saving goals" prompt. What should I do?
While we think this bug is fixed, we found a good resolution is making sure you have selected a data point for each category (including idle alert).
What is idle alert?
To ensure that you remain active, you can select a time interval to get your wrist buzzed after a span of time of low activity.
Why does using this make me feel like it is Christmas Morning?
We tend to have that effect on people.
