Trouble Receiving Any Notifications

There are two common issues that can keep notifications from getting to your watch: the phone’s settings and the bluetooth-phone connection.  To fix these issues, please take the following steps:

  1. Double-tap your phone’s home button, and swipe up on the Pebble app to close it
  2. Open your phone’s Settings, and tap ‘Notifications’
  3. Tap on any apps you want notifications from, and make sure ‘Allow Notifications’ and ‘Show on Lock Screen’ are toggled on, and notification style is set to ‘Banner’
  4. Reopen the Pebble app, and open the ‘Notifications’ tab (in the bottom right corner).  Make sure none of the apps shown have their notifications turned off.

If you’re still having trouble receiving notifications, don’t worry yet--resetting the bluetooth connection normally fixes any remaining issue:

  1. Open your phone’s Settings and tap ‘Bluetooth’
  2. Tap the ‘i’ next to any Pebble devices and forget the devices
  3. On your phone, simultaneously hold the Home and Lock (top) buttons until the Apple logo appears
  4. On your watch, press and hold the back and select (middle) buttons until the Pebble logo appears

After the phone and watch have started up again, you’re almost done! Just a couple more steps:

  1. Open your watch’s menu, select ‘Settings’ and then ‘Bluetooth’
  2. Select your phone’s name and forget the phone
  3. Finally, reopen the Pebble app and tap ‘Connect’ to reconnect your phone

Please note: for best results, please make sure to avoid force closing the Pebble app--just tap the home button to exit the app when you need to.

Trouble Using Voice

If you’ve started having trouble replying to SMS messages with voice, or using the Send Text app, please first check that you’re using a compatible carrier:

  • AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile in the US (note: sub-carriers are not supported)
  • Most carriers in the UK, Australia and the Netherlands

If you’re in one of the above categories, please take the following steps to fix your voice feature:

  1. Open the Pebble app, and tap the menu in the upper right corner
  2. Scroll to ‘Collect usage logs’ and make sure it’s toggled on (orange)
  3. Open your phone’s settings and scroll down to tap the Pebble app
  4. Make sure ‘Background app refresh’ is on (green)
  5. Finally, make sure not to force close the Pebble app--just tap the home button to exit the app when you’re done.

When using voice texting features, it’s important to keep the microphone within 12-18 inches of your mouth and speak clearly and slowly.

No Vibration from Notifications

If your watch no longer vibrates when it displays notifications, there are a few quick fixes that should correct the problem for you.

First, check to see if Quiet Time (which allows you to disable notification vibrations) is turned on:

  1. Open your watch menu, and select ‘Settings’
  2. In your settings, scroll to and select ‘Quiet Time’
  3. Make sure ‘Manual’ is set to ‘Off’

If this doesn’t solve the issue, resetting the watch usually fixes the issue (note: please first plug in the watch if your battery is below 50%):

  1. Open your watch menu, and select ‘Settings’
  2. Scroll to and select ‘System’
  3. In ‘System’ scroll down to and select ‘Factory Reset’
  4. On your phone, open ‘Settings’ and tap ‘Bluetooth’
  5. Tap the ‘i’ next to any Pebble device, and forget the device
  6. Once your watch restarted, open the Pebble App and tap the ‘Connect’ prompt to reconnect the phone and watch

Calendar Notifications

Trouble receiving calendar notifications is usually related to phone permissions. Some formats of calendars aren’t supported by Pebble yet, but the majority are.  If you’re not getting calendar notifications or the events aren’t showing up in your Timeline, please check the following:

  1. Open your phone’s settings
  2. Scroll down to and tap the Pebble app
  3. Make sure ‘Calendars’ permission is toggled on (green)
  4. Open the Pebble app, and tap on the Calendar app
  5. Make sure ‘Timeline pins’ and ‘Timeline notifications’ are toggled on (orange)
  6. Tap ‘Settings’ and make sure ‘Calendar’ is toggled on, as well as any calendars you want on your watch

It’s also important to check the Pebble app, to make sure the calendar notifications aren’t turned off:

  1. Open the Pebble app
  2. Tap on ‘Notifications’ in the bottom right corner
  3. If ‘Calendar’ appears in the list of apps, make sure it’s toggled on (orange)
