Chinese Beta - Characters and Translations
Pebble is currently offering international translation within the mobile apps and online support articles for English, French, German, and Spanish.
To change the language displayed within your mobile app:
- Launch your Pebble app
- Tap "Settings" from the main menu of the mobile app.
Notification Characters
Back in November, with the release of version 2.8 of our firmware, we added full character sets for 80 languages.
This means that over 98% of Pebblers around the world can view notifications in their native language, including: Afrikaans, Albanian, Asu, Basque, Bemba, Bena, Bosnian, Catalan, Chiga, Congo Swahili, Cornish, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Embu, English, Esperanto, Estonian, Faroese, Filipino, Finnish, French, Galician, Ganda, German, Gusii, Hungarian, Icelandic, Indonesian, Irish, Italian, Jola-Fonyi, Kabuverdianu, Kalaallisut, Kalenjin, Kamba, Kikuyu, Kinyarwanda, Latvian, Lithuanian, Luo, Luyia, Machame, Makhuwa-Meetto, Makonde, Malagasy, Malay, Maltese, Manx, Maori, Meru, Morisyen, North Ndebele, Norwegian Bokmål, Norwegian Nynorsk, Nyankole, Oromo, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Rombo, Rundi, Rwa, Samburu, Sango, Sangu, Sena, Shambala, Shona, Slovak, Slovenian, Soga, Somali, Spanish, Swahili, Swedish, Swiss German, Taita, Teso, Vunjo, Zulu.

Chinese Beta - Characters and Translations
Chinese language support (both simplified and traditional) is now available to users for early access as “beta" localized software for their Pebble smartwatch. This beta software now provides Chinese readers with expanded capabilities to:
• View incoming Chinese text notifications and messages (both simplified and traditional) on their Pebble smartwatch
• Select either simplified or traditional translations for the system text and menu items
This is a big step forward in multi-lingual capabilities for the Pebble smartwatch. However, this beta does come with some limitations, including the following:
• System messages and menu items on the Pebble smartwatch are limited to either simplified or traditional. Only one can be selected as the default.
• Chinese characters for incoming notifications and messages are limited to approximately 10,000 characters, and are a combination of both simplified and traditional characters. However, given the limitation on the number of characters, there is a chance that some characters may be missing and show up with a simple box character.
• Chinese characters, simplified and traditional, for text and notifications are available independent of which option you select for the system menus.
• This beta does not include localizations for the Pebble iOS and Android mobile apps, or the Pebble appstore. These will be available at a future time, to be determined.
